Forbes Magazine names Hypertherm one of “America’s Best Employers” in new 2018 ranking

Hypertherm, a U.S. based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, today announced its selection as a Forbes Magazine America’s Best honoree, earning the number 30 spot on its list of the 500 Best Midsize Employers and the number 2 spot among Engineering and Manufacturing companies.
Forbes teamed up with market research company Statista to pinpoint the companies liked best by employees. The rankings are divided into two lists: one for large companies with more than 5,000 employees, and another for midsize companies like Hypertherm who employ between 1,000 and 5,000 people. To create the list, Statista surveyed 30,000 Americans working for both large and midsize employers.
Surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. Respondents were asked to rate the likelihood of recommending their employer to others, in addition to answering questions related to working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image. Respondents also had the opportunity to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. The final list ranks the employers receiving the most recommendations.
“We are honored by our inclusion on this list of America’s Best Employers for 2018. It’s a testament to the culture created upon our founding 50 years ago and the foresight shown by Founder Dick Couch and his wife and business partner Barbara Couch in supporting our transition to a 100 percent employee owned company,” said Evan Smith, President and CEO. “A highly engaged team of Associates, whose belief in shared rewards and a triple-bottom line management approach, is enabling us to bring about positive change, while simultaneously creating shared value for our customers and community.”
Hypertherm designs and manufactures industrial cutting products for use in a variety of industries such as shipbuilding, manufacturing, and automotive repair. Its product line includes cutting systems, in addition to CNC motion and height controls, CAM nesting software, robotic software and consumables. Hypertherm systems are trusted for performance and reliability that result in increased productivity and profitability for hundreds of thousands of businesses. The company’s reputation for cutting innovation dates back 50 years to 1968, with Hypertherm’s invention of water injection plasma cutting. The 100 percent associate owned company has more than 1,400 associates along with operations and partner representation worldwide.
